About PDF (Portable Document Format) files. PDF files are a convenience intended for those of our readers who wish to print out an entire piece with formatting intact rather than to read it on a monitor. Please note that our PDF files are created several days in advance of the posting date of the issue in which they are included. It may well be that minor differences will exist between the source file and the PDF file as the source file may have formatting changes or minor corrections made after the PDF has been created.
The correct procedure for printing a PDF file is to open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program which can be obtained at: <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/main.html>.
After Acrobat Reader is installed, clicking on a PDF file will open it in the program, from whence it can be easily printed. We have seen circumstances under which various anomalies affect the printing process, but in general the file should print exactly as it looks on screen, which is rarely the case when printing directly from a browser.
To create our PDF files we use a wonderful shareware product, Print to PDF, (Sorry, Macintosh only!) which can be obtained at: <http://www.jwwalker.com/> Please pay for your shareware...
These two products have greatly extended the functionality of our site, and we thank their creators!
