The Matsushita Center for Electronic Learning (MCEL) at Pacific University was created with a generous grant from the Matsushita Corporation. The mission of MCEL is to make available to a wide audience authoritative content in Asian Studies and other scholarly fields. MCEL is directed by Dr. Jeffrey Barlow, Matsushita Professor of East Asian Studies at Pacific University. At present MCEL receives well over five million "hits" per year.
