After an enthusiastic response for the First International conference held in April 2003, we are pleased to announce the Second International Conference on Microchannels and Minichannels. The focus of the conference will be fundamental aspects as well as practical applications at mini and microscale in electronics cooling and heat exchanger industry. Special focus will be on microchannels in silicon chips and novel applications.

Conference Objective: The conference is intended to provide a platform for researchers to exchange information and identify research needs in this emerging area encompassing many engineering and medical disciplines.

Conference Format: The conference will consist of plenary lectures and paper presentations. The papers will be compiled and distributed to the participants in a CD or in a bound volume. If the authors would like, some of the papers will be forwarded to specific journals for possible publication. There will also be banquet dinners with special lectures presented by experts in new groundbreaking technologies.

Topics Covered: Fluid flow, heat transfer and mass transfer issues related to flow in passages 10 micrometer to about 3 mm will be covered. Topics related to single phase, flow boiling, flow condensation, microfluidics, instrumentation and control, fuel cells, simulation and modeling, flow in microturbines, microactuators and microsensors, electrokinetic flows, flows with chemical reactions, microchannel flows in biological systems, and specific applications including nuclear, biomedical, MEMS devices, novel systems, etc. are appropriate for the conference.
