ACCPAC CRM 5.5 Released

ACCPAC International (www.accpac.com), a subsidiary of Computer Associates International, announced the release last week of ACCPAC CRM 5.5, the latest version of its CRM application for small and mid-sized businesses. Because the application is a complete Internet and wireless CRM system that supports many different operating platforms, it is suitable for companies with remote offices or mobile professionals. Companies can access the application on PDAs, cell phones, or any other technology that is browser-enabled.

Broadband Services Find Success in Online CRM

According to Forrester Research, 8.6 million online shoppers access the Internet via a high-speed connection, compared to 12 million using dial-up. Taken alone, those findings are hardly groundbreaking. What's noteworthy is the rest of the picture that emerges from that study: Those broadband users are younger, richer, and better informed than their narrowband counterparts. They spend more time and money online and are more likely to buy customized products and services.

PeopleSoft Offers Total Ownership

Earlier this month, PeopleSoft (www.peoplesoft.com) launched a new company initiative known as the Total Ownership Experience. It will try to apply technology to improve all aspects of the customer experience, raising the bar in improving implementations, operations, upgrades, and usability of enterprise applications for its customers. PeopleSoft has also been working on improving the speed of implementation of the latest version of its own CRM package, CRM 8.8.

Government Improves Recruitment Online

A decade ago, human resource administrators responsible for meeting government employment needs realized the potential advantages for recruiting that the Internet, still relatively unknown, afforded. Using this medium as a recruiting tool, job postings could reach many more potential applicants, expanding the selection pool. The hiring agency would also benefit by more efficiently collecting and reviewing application and resume submissions, thus speeding up the entire recruitment process.
